Three things or THE SIGN OF THREE

Bev at Confuzzledom does some fun posts which I have totally enjoyed over time. She did this one called Three things which I liked so I am stealing it!

Three things I'd never give up:
Books, tea, blogging!

Three favourite vegetables:
Oooh, difficult! Sweetcorn, Pak Choi, aubergines.  There's a Chinese restaurant in my home town that does Hakka cuisine and they do Szechuan Aubergines which are the most delicious dish I've ever tasted involving aubergines!

Three shows I've watched faithfully from beginning to end:
Ugly Betty, Lost, Hmmm, trying to think of a third...? Jonathan Creek? House of Elliott.  Managed to catch up on Lost and J.C because of DVD box sets and House of Elliot because of Youtube.  I've also watched The Prisoner in its entirety even though I wanted to scream at Patrick McGoohan over the travesty that was the final episode!

Three places I want to visit inside the US:
Hmmm, I am not sure. There's lots of places I think look nice but I've never been one of those people with a USA-based Bucket list. Hmmm, well I'd like to visit NY.

Three places I want to visit outside the US:
Easy: Canada,

Three things I always have with me:
Purse, phone, keys.

Three things that are always in my car:
I don't own one. But my husband does.  I usually leave my walking boots in his car, our Parking permit for Northumberland/Hexham and an atlas or three! plus these nasty coffee chocolate shot things for keeping you awake when driving. I'm pretty sure they've melted, solidified, melted, solidified a million times.

Three most recent phone calls were to/from:
Mum- phoned to catch up on her trip to Glastonbury
Estate agent: to arrange house viewings for Saturday
Apparently the third one was on Saturday to my little sister.

Three books I read and loved in college:
Well, I attended THREE universities so I shall name one I remember from each:
London music degree university: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
TOTALLY remember this as I used to play in a Gamelan group at the Royal Festival Hall who rehearsed there every Sunday evening and I remember sneaking HP behind the Gender I was playing when rehearsing a piece called Xerxes Tripod and totally sneakily reading in ANY bars rest I had!
Arts college in Bali:  A house in Bali by Colin McPhee- SO happy to find an English language book that was not an Ethnomusicology book. So interesting.
I also read The Mousetrap playscript by Agatha Christie which also bizarrely was in the library at my Arts College.  Naughty to read it before seeing the play but I was desperate!
PGCE university: Tom's Midnight Garden by Phillippa Pearce: This is one of my favourite books of all time. I was the swotty PGCE student who read 50 children's books AND reviewed them like our PGCE guide suggested and consequently was one of the few who didn't have a panic when handing in my English portfolio!

Three most often used make up products:
It is rare that I wear makeup but I do have three products I use
Yves St Laurent Touche Eclat concealer- for the interminable dark circles under my eyes
Black/turquoise eyeliner:  Different brands...
Urban Decay glitter eye-shadow: Can't remember the exact name but it's something like 'Destiny's cowboy rides again.'

Three things that make me laugh:
Silly puns based on homophones, e.g. Mice-cream with a picture of a mouse sitting on top of a cone!
Terry Pratchett.
Animals doing silly things or muddle ups involving animals. CBC and I watched the Nicola Sturgeon/Gorilla mix-up on breakfast news about 15 times in a row, almost crying each time. You can watch it here. I can't stop laughing over it! Then we discovered a cobra snake throwing up 6 eggs which we found hilarious! You can watch it here.

Three things that make me cry:
Let's get this straight that I am a complete cry baby!
Any moment in a film where someone is experiencing unrequited love, or dies, or anything that is made to seem sad!
When I see someone old who you can see is really struggling to be mobile and get around.
Any time I go for special prayer at church for something specific. Makes me cry every time. I get SO embarrassed!

I'd love to see if you answer Bev's Three things!

xx
