I had a lovely surprise today when I got to school! I thought that I was teaching my Year 1's as usual first lesson but I discovered that a theatre company were in to perform a pantomime to the Year 1's and 2's. I thought it was going to be in the afternoon so it was great!

It was Cinderella which is my absolute favourite fairytale and pantomime!
For a travelling theatre company in schools, I thought it was excellent.  Great acting, great scenery, costumes and singing.
Whenever I read books set in England about childhood, books like Ballet Shoes or the Saddler's Wells books, the children always go to see a pantomime at Christmas.
When I was a little girl, my dance school always did a pantomime just after Christmas and my recorder group always used to go every year to see the panto at the Theatre Royal in Stratford.  It's definitely one of those fun parts of Christmas.

Fun, singing, dancing, happily ever afters!!!! What a fun time we did have.

Are you going to a pantomime?  Do you enjoy them?

xx

This is Day 9 of my Advent Calendar with Julie at KC's Court
