TARDIS Tuesday -Hide

Hello there!

This week's TARDIS Tuesday is one that I have tried to do a few times.  It is her outfit from Hide, an episode from Series 7 of Doctor Who.

Here is my picture of the outfit which I took at the Doctor Who experience. Clara wears a very 1990's button down dress with a navy casual-looking blazer, a red satchel, black wedged lace-up shoes, a little owl necklace and then some of the time, wears a Barbour jacket over the top.

You can see it on her in these two pictures and you can see her leaning against the ancient stones of the spooky manner where the episode takes place.

And here is my version of it.  We took these photos on Easter Sunday after church at Hexham Abbey- the ancient stones were the perfect setting for it!

None of my clothing is Screen accurate, but, I think, a very good match!

My blazer came from the New Look  sale a year or so ago and is very useful for school when I want to look slightly smarter.  The bag is a Bailey and Quinn one that I bought from Debenhams a few years ago when CBC kept moaning that I needed just one smart, posh bag instead of my motley collection of novelty tat or patterns.  The shoes are some Clarks black nubuck wedges I bought some years ago.  Finally, the dress is probably one of the closest alternatives you can get to the real Urban Outfitters dress- it is originally from SoCal but I bought it from another Clara cosplayer who had now got the real dress.

The outfit does make me smile because I really did have an outfit almost identical to this but in black in the 1990's when I was a teenager that I remember wearing to a Birthday party I went to.  It comfy and loose-fitting but looked quite smart for our dinner out at the Beaumont Hotel and for church.
I like this episode because there is a very ugly-looking 'scary' monster that doesn't turn out to be so scary after all and it ends up being rather a Beast and the Beast (rather than Beauty and the Beast) sort of story!

What do you think? Do you think Hexham Abbey works as a setting for a scary story!?
