TARDIS Tuesday- welcome to the 13th Doctor!

I am doing a TARDIS Tuesday I only did about 10 months ago. Here was when I first dressed as the new 13th Doctor. I know I won't have time to post this tomorrow so posting it now!

And on Sunday, we got to see the new 13th Doctor as played by Jodie Whittaker in the role for the first time!  So in honour of that, TARDIS Tuesday is based on the new Doctor!

As a reminder, here is what we were shown to expect of the new Doctor's look:

It appealed to my sense of style and tastes- the trousers are my favourite colour, I like stripes AND rainbows, love culottes, like a good sensible-length coat and boots and socks!

And so here is the version I wore yesterday!

It was a delightfully sunny day so I didn't wear my coat (I just have a beige Jane Norman one I found in the charity shop for £2 with dark piping).

It actually features different garments from the last time I wore it.
I found someone selling this Brandy Melville t-shirt for £4 second-hand and it looked really like the Doctor's one so I swapped that for my winter long-sleeved version I wore last time.  This time I wore another pair of ASOS trousers- they're not culottes, they are a pair I've had for a few years which I bought with a voucher and the colour seems much more like the real ones.

Other than that- the boots (DMs via eBay last year), socks (CBC's Olympics Closing Ceremony Costume 2012) and braces (eBay) are the same as last time.  I have two pairs of the socks and CBC saw me wearing them yesterday and said, "Where did you get those hideous socks from?" (at that time covered in lawn-mowings) and I told him!

Anyone got any tips for keeping braces on?  These things drove me round the bend! What do I attach them to and how do they stay?

Ooh, one addition.  Above is featured a version of the earcuff that Jodie wears.  Now, an earcuff really isn't me- I've never really liked additional piercings beyond the ones I have in my ear so I did my own version.

And wore one starry dangly earring from a pair.

On a brilliant note, I decided to wear this outfit for school today BUT with the long-sleeved version of the top and without the braces because they annoyed me so much. I wanted to see if anyone noticed.  The day progressed and no one had commented, not even the staff member who had watched Doctor Who.
After school at 3.45pm, I walked into the classroom where we were having some Computing training which was being led by an external person. I walked in (and apparently my work colleague said that she was staring at me with her mouth open).  I sat down and she said to me, "Are you dressed as Doctor Who??????".  I replied delightedly that I was and she said it was brilliant and had loved it and said she must know where I got the t-shirt.  It made me smile all the way home!!!

What do you think?

And did you watch the episode.

Look away now if you don't want any spoilers. And if you aren't interested just head straight to the comments- you know you want to!

SPOILERS coming....

Don't look if you haven't watched it...

Last chance...

Well, I thoroughly enjoyed the episode.  I thought the characterisation of the Doctor was very well played- she was endearing, a bit scatty, yet with a steel edge of intelligence and age-old wisdom but with a fun, kind energy. She felt like the Doctor. I KNEW that that character who met their demise would meet their demise- it was obvious from the fact that they weren't going to recur.   Wasn't sure what they were actually doing though when it happened.  Maybe that gathering coil mass might have attacked the Doctor if she hadn't done that.  I didn't feel like Mr Sinclair actually did enough to keep that character out of danger- mind you, it made for a strong character. Which is a shame as I really liked that character and would have liked to have seen more.  I was particularly pleased that the 'problem' of the episode just for once wasn't totally apocalyptic but a localised danger, affecting a small group of people- I have been a bit tired in recent times of New Who and its 'End of the World every Saturday' element.  The idea of the alien was intriguing- if a little gross.  It was a little rubbish.
Very much liked the new assistants.  Everyone has been raving about Bradley Walsh.  I thought he was alright. I knew he could act but I wasn't overly bowled over by him, just thought it worked. The other two assistants, Ryan and Yaz seem great, I particularly liked Ryan- I like the difficulties he experienced- very important to highlight those.  I didn't particularly feel the emotion so much of those characters after the demise of a character.  Loved the charity shop scene- yessssssss, Doctor Who shops in chazzas! But which charity shop has items like that!?
The new theme tune which seemed to hark back to the 80's was tolerable- I didn't like the overly tinny-sounding synthesised tom-tom drum! It was, in my opinion, to loud.
I don't think that is the last we have seen of that character- I like to think Asha and other trophies will turn up towards the end of the series.
