Greetings Mortals,
Today, I thought I'd share a TARDIS Tuesday I've done before from Doctor Who Spin-off, The Sarah Jane Adventures, featuring ex-Who companion, investigative Journalist Sarah Jane Smith. It is a very comfy outfit but looks funky and smart and I thought it would be good for a Sunday outfit. In her very first episode, she wears this:
As you can see, she wears a fitted brown/beige stripy dress with knee high black boots with buckles. Over her dress she wears a textured pink cardigan with large pearly buttons on both sides and on the cuffs. Oh, and maroon/burgundy tights under her dress.
And here's my version:

And here's my version:
The cardigan which is screen-accurate, is from Karen Millen and is a beautiful cardigan- stretchy but fitted, smart and I've worn with with various other dresses so versatile. Plus, the pink is quite an attractive shade, which for someone who isn't particularly enamoured by pink, is great!
I remember, when I was searching for a suitable alternative dress to wear for this over a year ago, I searched for a long time to find something suitable in terms of colour, length, material, neckline and of course, a price I was willing to pay. And second-hand of course. I didn't want to buy something new.
In terms of boots and tights- I wore my Ralph Lauren boots which I bought from TK Maxx about 4 years ago and some maroon leggings which unfortunately have a big hole in them but I'm not going to throw them away just because they have a hole! It's a fun, comfy outfit and I hope you agree, that it works well together!
What do you think?
