Join me in a creative writing or choosing challenge!
I'm said I was going to post some categories which you need to write about for what you will/would do post isolation, post when the horrid Covid is finally vanquished and returns to Mordor.
Write about your choices for the following categories- feel free to be brief or get your descriptive skills out in their full glory! Do it in one post or in many! Your choice. Some of them may not apply to you or be appropriate but I thought I'd post them anyway!
Leave me a comment with your URL and I'll definitely come and read and perhaps I could post my favourites from everyone for the different categories (maybe? Is this a good or bad idea?) If you could link to this post too, in order to give other people a chance to join in, that'd be lovely.
So here's my answers to the questions I set.
Thank you to Lyn, Hazel and Louise who have joined in and Fil, Bev and a lovely new blogger http://lildesiqua.blogspot.com/ who has said they will be joining in with this in the next few days (Lil, I'm really sorry but I can't comment on your blog. Disqus refuses to load!)
Enjoy!
1. Restaurant you would go out to.
Well, in terms of realistically which one would I use, I'd probably choose to go out for Thai food- my absolute favourite cuisine. I'd probably go to Rak Chang if it were open. It's not really near us and is currently closed for refurbishment but the food is amazing there. Otherwise, I'd go to Tara Thai which is also not very close but as near to Thai as we can get!
Also, we went to to this amazing Vietnamese restaurant in Hackney with my Brother-in-Law a few years ago and they did absolutely the most amazing Salt and Pepper tofu and Salt and Pepper Chicken wings and I've been longing to go back there ever since!
2. Friend you would meet up with first:
Ooh, so difficult! At this point, it makes me realise how few friends I actually meet up with regularly. I'd meet up with my friend Lara perhaps to play a mammoth round of boardgames, go for a lovely walk, play music together. I might also arrange to see my friend Margaret as we didn't see each other for my birthday which we usually do.
3. Place you would go.
Northumberland. I was ITCHING to get there and go for a massive walk and pick the wild garlic. I would go for an amazing walk near Alston to the beautiful waterfall you can walk behind. Plus, I feel really sorry for my Mother-in-Law who is all alone in Northumberland.
4. Shop you would go to:
ALLLLLLL the charity shops!!!!
5. Food item you would buy/eat
Well, I was thinking of what I haven't been able to get so far and I'd really like to be able to get some fresh prawns and some Salmon and Pak Choi. Our local supermarkets don't have Pak Choi usually anyway but we haven't been to a supermarket for 3 weeks anyway! I'd like to eat Lasagna also, mainly because my mum said she'd made Lasagne and left a portion for my sister outside her house and then my other sister told me she'd made Lasagne for her, my Dad and Step-mum which my Dad had heralded as absolutely delicious and all of a sudden it felt like the WHOLE world was eating Lasagne except me! I'd also like my Mum's Spaghetti Bolognese as well! And since I gave up meat for Lent, though I don't eat very much of it (esp since CBC is Pescetarian), I'd like to eat some Salt and Pepper chicken wings!
6. Cake you would eat:
Easy! Fresh Cream chocolate eclairs!!!! (I have actually had chocolate loaf cake from the Milkman so at least I'm getting some sort of cake!)
7. Show you would/will go to see:
Hmmm, well, we were supposed to be going to see Jacob Collier at the Roundhouse last Wednesday so it's currently been postponed so I hope it will be rescheduled.
8. Concert you will go to watch.
More likely to play! Well, I don't know how long until we will be able to return to life but it would be lovely if I would be able to play a concert in August with my music camp.
9. Relative you will hug first
All of them!!!! I speak to my Mum every day and I really would like to give her a hug but also my Dad, Stepmum and sisters.
10. Holiday you would go on:
I really wanted to go to Tresco this year! I really would like to go there. Anna keeps posting amazing pictures of her daily swims and I've swum in Pentle Bay before, when I visited there for a day in 2016 and it was bliss! I've wanted to go back there ever since! I'm hoping I can go to my Music Camp.
We were also thinking of going to Sweden to visit a friend (who's supposed to be getting married in June with a UK wedding party...which we were invited to)
11. Other activity you would take part in.
Playing my flute with my quartets and trios. Also, I was really hoping to be asked (if the other flaustists couldn't do it) to play in Kensingon Symphony Orchestra's June concert of Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra. In my last concert before Covid stopped it all from happening (on the 13th March), Chris, the principal flautist said he hoped to be able to ask me.
I'd also go to a Swing Dance class and go swimming! Oh, it's absolutely months since I've been swimming (maybe even last Summer!)
Also, GET MY HAIR CUT!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so sick of my long hair!!!!! Why didn't I just cut it off in January- I'm sure I had enough for a wig then. I'd even let my mum cut my hair (if we were allowed to see each other)- a thing I thought would never happen after *Wonky-hair-gate* of 1994!
I'd also like a Facial too- my skin is horribly spotty all round my nose at the moment.
12. Thing you would do at work.
I'd like to teach my lovely year 6 classes about Beethoven's 5th Symphony, teach them about Balinese Gamelan and teach my choir songs from Les Miserables.
13. Item you would buy.
I wanted to buy a seed sprouter- I ALMOST bought one when I did my toilet roll order in March- almost did it- WHY didn't I do it?! Also, I wanted to help put money towards CBC buying himself a new Cello bow- we were hoping to go and try bows in Edinburgh at Stringers (we were supposed to be there over Easter weekend). I'd also wanted to buy a plum tree- we looked at them on the final Sunday before Lockdown but there wasn't a handy person to ask which had Dwarf root-stock which we'd probably need for our small garden.
Do let me know if you join in with this and go and visit the others who join in too!
