This week, I hadn't really got in mind what I was going to do for TARDIS Tuesday but I knew it needed to be something comfy and cosy. I didn't really know what to wear that I hadn't worn fairly recently. Then, I saw a stripy top lying on the clean washing pile and suddenly thought of which outfit I could try to cobble together.
Here's the inspiration:
It's Amy Pond's outfit from The Angels Take Manhattan- her swan song episode.

She wears a round necked white top with thin black stripes with a pocket on the front. Over the top, she wears a tan parka coat, some fitted blue jeans rolled up and brown brogues. Finally, she dons some tortoiseshell glasses and if you look carefully, you will see she is wearing a black disc necklace with an 'A' for Amy initial on it.

And here's my version! As I alluded to in yesterday's post, I decided to head to St Mary's churchyard to take some photos as there is a really lovely graveyard which I love to walk around and look at the gravestones and the pretty flowers. I walked there lots in the March lockdown and I picked my nettles for my soup here. I knew I needed a reason to leave the house- otherwise I'd have been in all day. |
I started with a white top with black stripes and a pocket- it's just a charity shop top I found a year ago or so but I think it works as a good alternative for her one.
I added my M&S gold sequinned jeans which I bought in my second year at University. I am amazed they still fit me considering I am bigger now than I was then.
I realise I forgot to take a close up of my brogues. They are men's ones I bought 2 years ago when I was jealous of CBC finding all the good shoes in his size. There is never anything in the size 8's women's section in Clarks so I always head over to the men's section which is more to my taste.
My jacket is actually a Barbour one which I bought for a Clara Oswald outfit- it's a lovely jacket and I thought it worked well for this outfit.
Finally, I remembered this cute necklace my sister in law bought me for Christmas in 2015. It's a good alternative to her A!
I thought I'd take a picture with my glasses to emulate that earlier picture of Amy looking at her Melody Malone novel which is a key plot device in the episode.
What do you think? A comfy, casual outfit but one I really liked!
