I love looking back at old posts, particularly from the Golden Age of Blogging (remember when the comments were plentiful and we all had the time to visit everyone's blogs!) .
This post was one from my visit to Barter Books in Alnwick and I found this scary book cover. The comments were hilarious too!
Enjoy...especially if you weren't here first time round!

Possibly the most sinister book cover ever...
Last week, I revisited the wonderful Barter Books in Alnwick, Northumberland and had a very jolly time. I'll write more about that soon. But, I had to share this book cover I sighted. It was prominently displayed in a craft section of books.
Seriously, That. Is. One. Scary. Doll.
Doll massacre dot com.
Surely the thing of nightmares!??!?!

Oh my. That doll is sacrificing the small one! Who knew there was such a thing as dolly sacrifice.
ReplyDeleteTerrifying!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the audition for a doll version of The Wicker Man or some other terrifying film!
ReplyDeleteI think it's burning my retinas!!
ReplyDeleteEvil dolls...I tend to think they are pretty creepy at the best of times tbh.

I do find antique doll a bit scary I must say....and this book isn't making me feel any different! X
ReplyDeletethat book seems interesting, but I'm kind of afraid of dolls...really:)
ReplyDelete....and that cover doesn't help;)
This is why I preferred Barbie as a child.
ReplyDeleteAs a little girl, I love to dress doll and comb their hair. i talked to them as if they were real little girls or babies. I really can't judge this book by the cover To me I see a broken doll and one that has probably been repaired.
ReplyDeleteFunny how a crazy movie of a haunted doll can play tricks with our mind.
I agree it's not the best book cover. Perhaps they should have included someone's hands holding some tools repairing the damaged doll.
Hugs,
JB
Sorry for the typos that sneaked by while I was rushing.

I love a sense of humor! Surely the author did this on purpose!?
ReplyDeleteHilarious. I wonder what spell she used?

That is utterly brilliant, I hope you bought it! x
ReplyDeleteThat is possibly the scariest thing I've ever seen. What were they thinking?! I hope you bought it though!

The cover looks scary, I wouldn't keep that book in the bedroom :))
ReplyDeleteYep - that would definitely be the scariest doll cover that I've seen in a while! Jx
ReplyDeleteBut WHY??? She looks so mean, I must know her story. I suspect that book will not give me what I need.
ReplyDeleteStuff of nightmares.
Haha! That's so funny. And the font is a little Dr Whoish, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteYep, she looks as though she's just floored the other doll.
ReplyDeleteAs a teen, I was forced to go to sleepovers at a frenemy's house. She collected china dolls and they were all lined up on a shelf just over her bed. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep... Xxx
