I promised I would share some pictures from my visit to Castle Lavender last weekend.
It is located near the village of Eynsford which is nearish to Seven Oaks in Kent.
There are various options for visiting.
You can pay £4.50 to walk round one of the fields for 45mins. Alternatively, you can pay £12.50 to have 2 hours in the picnic field (Bring your own). There's also a tour option in another field which I think is £15 or £20 and there is also a shop selling products.
We had booked a picnic in the Ladybird field. Ladybird is the variety of lavender grown in that field. We got a good place in the open marquee which provided shade to eat your picnic in.
As we ate, our feast (beautifully prepared by my Stepmum), we were treated to the most incredible, calming aroma of Lavender. The heat of the day made it particularly pungent.
We noticed a girl posing, all dressed up with a man with a tripod. She proceeded to do the same pose for the next 2 hours. We were all a little perplexed by it. Try some different poses! See if you can spot them in the photos.
It was a lovely experience. We finished up by buying an ice-cream. I had the lavender flavour because it seemed appropriate!
Do pay a visit if you are lucky enough to be in the area during the season!
