Hello there!!!
I had a lovely day today, despite its busyness! The day began with CBC greeting me with a kiss, a birthday card, a large chocolate cake (in its box, I hasten to add- I'm not mad enough to eat cake upon waking up!) and a bag of Szechuan crackers to eat on the train (for the way home). He kindly made himself late by waiting to give me a lift to the station. I'm glad he stayed otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to zip my dress up! I made an earlier train which again, gave me a good start to the day. I set up my biscuits, sweets, savoury snacks and chocolates on the staff room table and then went to photocopy some sheets for year 1. The staff meeting Happy Birthday was lustily sung to us birthday ladies, my Head announcing to all and sundry that her Deputy thought I was 12 today which was greeted with raucous laughter!
Happily, it wasn't the usual Friday so we had assemblies which meant I got a break mid-morning and could enjoy a cup of tea and snacks. My lessons went well on the whole. Most children managed to achieve what I wanted them to and they seemed to enjoy it. Likewise orchestra.

The child whose birthday it was also today seemed to have told every child in the school it was mine and the other two teachers' birthdays since every child wished me a happy birthday and several made me cards, one made me a ring, one a box of chocolates. I was spoilt with cards and gifts from kind colleagues. In the evening, CBC and I had cake and tea with two local friends and went out for a Thai dinner. The food itself was nice.

Today, I really wanted to wear this dress for the first time. I love this shade of green but never know what to call it. Any ideas? Pine Green? It was fun combining these items (dress, shirt, boots) in shades of this green and black and a new polka dot headband. It's a real eye-catching colour!
