Folding the mustard letters

Hi there! I've joined in with Style imitating art again.  Salazar hosted on this occasion and the post is up here:

The inspiration this time was Louise Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun, a Rococo artist and the title, "Lady folding a letter." Wow, that is one stylish administrator!!!

I have few mustard items in my wardrobe and that seemed a key item to me- I decided to wear a thrifted/charity-shopped Mustard floral top (recent) and gifted mustard beret together with the blue floral F&F skirt to highlight the dress and hat.  The black cardie (George at Asda aged 12-13- ha!) echoed the shawl.  That's where the similarities end. I paired it with claret tights and these recently charity-shopped conker-brown ankle boots (the holy grail of charity shoe shopping- the elusive size 8 shoes!), just because.  I know this makes the outfit a bit tenuous but I was originally aiming for a vibrant Autumn colours outfit tying in with the painting!

The grass is very long at the moment in the garden. We had a bit of a lawnmower saga. Before I moved from East-London Essex to more rural Essex, my Mum said I could have the lawnmower.  But when I mentioned that to my landlord and husband, he said that we had the one with the house so we should use that. Since space is at a premium, I reluctantly agreed- I mean I hate passing up an opportunity to save something, so my mum disposed of it to my old neighbour. Fast forward six months and last Spring, I decided to mow our lawn.  CBC had mowed it the previous two times.  I finished our back lawn and went out to do the front.  As I finished it, I glanced at our neighbour's front lawn.  He's away on holiday often and according to the other neighbours in our little block, he's notorious for not liking gardening. As a random act of kindness, I decided to mow his lawn.   The grass was very long.  As I mowed down the lawn, there was a sort of flash and then the mower conked out.  It broke at that point.  I asked my other neighbour if he could look at it but he said we'd have to get it looked at properly.  On two other occasions, I borrowed our neighbour's lawnmower but somehow,  the edge of his strimmer came off so I was too embarassed to ask him again.  We took ours to be mended but the repairers said it wasn't worth it.   That was July.  When we were in Croatia, my next door neighbour, he of the gardening-ennui, mowed our front lawn for us but that was the last time.  Somehow, I never think of a lawn mower when we're out at the shops and I never think to mow when sunny and obviously can't ask for my old one back. Plus, the weather is getting worse so I'm not sure if there will be any chance to mow when the lawn is not drenched.   I dread to think what the lawn will be like next Spring....
