 Day 8:  Christmas Brooch!
You knew it was coming!  Today's Advent photo is of a Christmas brooch!
We all, I am quite sure, have a pair of tacky Christmas earrings we wear during December, or a hat, or a jumper of course. Or socks! In every household, there are seasonal ways to show it's Christmas in your outfit! Well, why not a Christmas brooch?!

I saw these cute little felt and wood decorations in Lidl (again!) and with the addition of a cute little silver pin, it became a dangling brooch! Set against black, it stood out nicely for the Christmas fair.
Here's a close up of Yesterday's outfit.  I wore this silver filigree brooch on my dress seam- this one came from a charity-shop around about 4 years ago but it originally came from a posh Southend Jeweller's according to its box!
Heart-shaped collar clips.
Like Janet, I was lusting after the Ladybird likes heart collar clips. But I was ordering my niece a glittery name necklace for Christmas from Punkypins and needed to spend £15 to get a free-personalised Christmas bauble (you know I'm going to convert it into something wearable!!)  so I added these for a fiver to get up to it!

I decided to experiment with where  I wear the brooches and took one of Curtise's tricks and wore this brooch on my beret.  This one, as you might guess, came from a charity-shop (earlier in the year when I found all those massive bright tin flowers!). It is missing a gem but it's fine- on a hat it works- maybe on an immaculate evening out outfit, it wouldn't be ok, but it's good enough for me at school!
I wore my self-made celery brooch again.  I last wore this for a TARDIS Tuesday for the 5th Doctor.  It worked really well for Style imitating Art with Jess at Animated Cardigan to represent the plate of leeks on the Thanksgiving table- let's be honest, this could very well be pak-choi, chard, leeks or any miscellaneous green leafy vegetable- I wasn't on my finest form when making this after ruining the first version of it!

Lots of blog friends have been sporting brooches this week. Go and say Hi and drool!
