I've enjoyed trying to make sure my posts have had an Advent or Christmassy link each day, no matter how tenuous! Since I wanted to do the brooch thing each week, I decided this week would ALL have to be Christmassy and I've done a collage with snow and holly to try and amplify the Christmas vibe!
Let's go and waffle about each one then!
This one was guilt buy on Sunday. At church, there was a St Luke's hospice box of these tiny little festive foliage brooches and no one had bought any so I nobly scraped around in my purse for all the silver I could find and bought this one. Quite simple and nice on the lapel along with red ric-rac gives a festive look!
I wore this for school on Tuesday. This brooch is actually a Christmas decoration from Sass and Belle I bought from the gift shop in Haltwhistle in October for 30p (I always buy things in there because I don't want it to close down- it's nice Haltwhistle has that!) I snipped off his string and added a brooch back proving that I really will attach a brooch back to anything that sits still for too long!
Continuing the theme of attaching a brooch back to anything, I was distraught when my Crown and Glory holly hairclip snapped off the hairclip- I absolutely loved wearing this-I wanted to fix it but I lost the missing piece so instead, I decided that it would have to become a brooch. Trouble is, the glue didn't really like felt so this one is pretty unstable so I might need to attach it again- any ideas!?
This tiny little penguin pin badge is from Clic Sargeant, another charity appeal. My work colleague had one and I admired it and she came in with one for me two days later! He's adorable- they have
others if anyone is interested..
The last one is tenuous really, but I always had satsumas in my stocking at Christmas, so this tiny little orange seemed an appropriate nod to that. I bought it at the town Christmas fair this year as I felt a bit sorry for the antique guy at the end of town.He had a massive tin of vintage pin badges and I rifled through and found this one for a pound!!!
